Since I am a web developer I can share with you some tips and techniques that I helped me, or that I have discovered.

Here are some tips for new web developers out there:

1.       Read…read…read

Learning is a never-ending process and you will surely learn a lot from reading. No further explanation needed

2.       Be a blog-raider

You can find many blog out there, including this one may be talking about things that you are looking for. Other than that, you can also pick-up new ideas or designs from these.

3.       Ask!

Nobody is perfect (we have to admit that). And sometimes even if think that what we have in mind is too freaking noobish or too damn idiotic…we have to raise our hands and ask a question.

4.       One is never enough

It would be a better world for us web developers if there is only one web browser out there. But reality bites… there are tons of them. It is a pain-in-the-@S$ but we have no choice but to test  our pages with these browsers. For starters, Firefox and Internet explorer will be enough (I think)

5.       No geek is an island

There are many web geeks out there, and they usually form groups. Join these groups and you might find some help and some social life there. I myself belong to a group (phpugph), where I am having fun, learning a lot and helping others (hope so)

6.       Have a buddy

You have your weakness, that’s for sure. I for example am very bad when it comes to aesthetics and UI. So once in I will I pair up with other web developers who are well versed in these things. I end up learning from them (or forcefully sucking their skills hahahah)

7.       FTW! FIREBUG!

I would really recommend this plug-in, it makes the task of debugging a lot easier for us web developers. Thank God for those geeks at Mozilla! There lots of plug-ins out there that you may find useful.
