I’ve been surfing the net when I came to this site that tell me how to open a nested browser using Mozilla Firefox.

Then an idea came to my mind <evil grin>

What you need?

  • Firefox browser (I’ve done it with FIrefox 3)
  • Firebug plug-in (this baby have a lot of use)

Here is what you do:

First step is to start Firefox, of course!

Next is to type chrome://browser/content/browser.xul to the address bar, you will then have a Firefox inside your Firefox

Then, activate firebug (F12 is the shortcut). Click inspect then click anywhere inside the browser (I prefer the menu bar or the tool bar)

Now, on the right side of Firebug, click CSS… then unleash the child inside of you! Disable some style to your heart’s desire!

That’s it, just don’t be surprised with what will happen to your Firefox browser. You can crash Firefox, you can have the menu look like some drunken text, have a transparent window and best of all, an invisible Firefox! I don’t know the combinations and the outcome, just play with it.

This is your friendly neighborhood web developer and I crashed Firefox again while playing with it (and composing this post)
